Boogie woogie piano with Ben Waters

Ben Waters is one of the world’s leading boogie-woogie / rock’n’roll piano players. Still in his 30s, he has entertained all over the world, playing alongside Chuck Berry, Jerry Lee Lewis, Ray Davies, Shakin’ Stevens and many others.

The Boogie for Stu tour, with his trio, launches his tribute CD in memory of the late Ian Stewart (‘Stu’), family friend and founder member of the Rolling Stones, who, along with Jools Holland and PJ Harvey have contributed to the album, proceeds from which will go towards the British Heart Foundation.

This is hard-hitting authentic boogie and rock’n’roll at its best. Here’s Ben playing The Melting Pot solo.

And here’s a one-off performance of Ben playing with the legendary Charlie Watts, Axel Zwingenberger and Jools Holland on Later with Jools Holland.

Ben Waters Band is playing live at Southbank Centre’s Purcell Room at Queen Elizabeth Hall on Friday 4 February 2011. Get tickets here.
